Signs That You're "Married With Children"

  • When you say to your husband, "What are you wearing?" he knows it is not a come on, but rather that you are are doing laundry and want to make sure you have a full load. (Sad but true)

  • You carry on conversations with people that include the phrase, "You know what drives me crazy about 'Little Einsteins'?" (The sad part was that this conversation took place with a 4th grader who informed by I had a little too much time on my hands.

  • If someone ask you the last book you've read and your reply contains the words "Froggy, Seuss or Mouse".
Okay, seriously about the Little Eiensteins. Particularly about Rocket. Why does he have to change into different vehicles like trains and boats or use gadgets like paddles? He's a ROCKET!! WHY CAN'T HE JUST FLY!!!!!

Okay - feeling a little better now.

Who Am I?

As mentioned in my previous post, I am an elementary school librarian. I work in a K-4 school in southwest Mississippi where I service 930 students (and growing). I even know some of there names! I am a wife and mother. My daughter , Natalie, is approaching 3 and is too cute if I do say so myself.

I am currently working on my master's in library and information science (MLIS) online through the University of Southern Mississippi (USM). I am around the midway point and will graduate spring 2010.

I am a Christian who was raised Nazarene, and am now Baptist. That simply means that after being saved 492 times I think it finally stuck. Sorry, little NazaBaptist humor there. My family and I attend Thompson Baptist Church in Smithdale, MS, where we are very active with our youth group - helping and teaching, not acting like them. Well actually. . .

In my free time (HA!) I am a member of a multidenominational "Faith in Fiction" book club. I do love to read, but I also enjoy TV. My favorite show on right now is LOST. It is the best! If I can find a way to do my master's thesis on it, I will :) Favorite "old" shows are Sports Night, West Wing, Joan of Arcadia, and Mad About You. When it is not too cold or too hot, I enjoy working in the yard and riding my 4wheeler. My husband and I are even members of a 4Wheelin' club (http://www.4w4c.com/). Are we cool or what?

I am also mildly addicted to The Dave Ramsey Show, which I download to my cell phone and listen to while I am driving and do those old lady librarian tasks such as cataloging.

Well, thanks for reading and getting to know me a little better now. Hope to post some of Natalie's pearls of wisdom soon, but so so far they would only serve to embarrass her loving parents.

God Bless,
Tracy

Jumping In!

Well, I am finally jumping into the blog world with both feet. Well, to be perfectly honest, this is not my first blog. My true first blog was a "private" one I did for a graduate course. It was basically a journal of a day in the life of an elementary school librarian. Woo Hoo! I felt sure that with the recent writer's strike Hollywood would have beaten a path to me. Oh Well.

I have been inspired to create my own blogspot by my long distance friend and hero Bronie Victory (http://www.teamvictory.blogspot.com/). It's part of that "If she can do it with 4 kids, well who am I to complain with my 1 kid" blah blah blah mentality. So thanks, Bronie. I think.

A more detailed introduction will come later, with photos, too.

God Bless,
Tracy
